Clinical Research Coordinator (Alumni)

I graduated from Northeastern University in May 2018 with a dual Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering and biochemistry. In college I participated in three co-ops and gained a background in research and engineering. My first co-op was at Genzyme/Sanofi, where I built image analysis algorithms to quantitate fluid dynamics inside a bioreactor. My second co-op was at MGH, investigating the relationship between Tau and neuroinflammation in the context of Alzheimer’s disease. My last co-op was with Merck Research Labs in Longwood. I performed stereotaxic surgeries in mouse models of Parkinson’s disease, and developed a highly sensitive assay to detect pathologic proteins in the brain. Outside of work and academics, I volunteered with Healthy Kids Healthy Futures, serving as a student activity leader to educate children of Roxbury Crossing on healthy eating and physical activity.

As part of the Loggia lab I am excited to continue my study of neuroinflammation, this time by examining how opioids might exacerbate pain for patients living with HIV. I look forward to gaining a complete understanding of clinical research, and generating clinical advancement for underserved patient populations.
