Pain and Neuroinflammation Imaging Lab

Kelly Castro-Blanco, BS

Clinical Research Coordinator (Alumni)

I graduated from Cornell University in 2020 with a B.S. in Biological Sciences concentrating in Human Nutrition and a minor in Inequality Studies. At Cornell, I was involved in research centered around maternal-fetal health, specifically lactating mothers’ access to information about breast pumping online. I additionally served as a teaching assistant for the Nutrition Department and a tutor for the Biology Scholars Program. Outside of academics, I volunteered with preschool and elementary school students at the Ithaca Community Childcare Center and Greater Ithaca Activities Center through the Cornell Big Red Buddies program. I also maintained a position on the Executive Board of Cupcakes For a Cure, an organization which raises awareness about pediatric cancer as well as funds for Sunrise Day Camp.

I am excited to join the Loggia Lab and explore the relationship between HIV-related neuropathic pain and opioid use. I look forward to furthering my understanding of clinical research and contributing to the service of vulnerable patient populations.
